Girls are learning how to code using SmartGurlz, a robot and doll all wrapped up in one. There are 5 different SmartGurlz to choose from: Jen, Maria, Zara, Jun and Emma. Each doll has their own unique story and personality, hobbies and interests, teaching their own STEM-related story. (STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) They glide along in scooters called “Siggys” and are controlled by an app called “Sugarcoated.” Kids can control the doll by either using the joystick provided by the app, or by using coding blocks to directly control the doll.
